Arroyo Seco, NM

The original flat-roofed, two room adobe house dates from the 1870’s. Subsequent additions enlarged the house, added portals and pitched roofs. A 1979 addition enlarged the master bedroom suite.

Our 1994 addition and remodel had several objectives:
•  provide separate bedrooms and bathroom for two children,
•  build a guest house using the footprint of an existing slab,
•  provide covered parking and a protected entry to both the kitchen and the front door,
•  unify a mix of disparate & incomplete buildings into a cohesive compound.

The large building on the right of the photo above is a guest house; built on an existing slab. After construction, the appraised value of the property was approximately double the initial amount.
