This 5,000 square foot home required extensive site work to build on this small, steep site located at an altitude of 10,000 feet–including an on-site alternative treatment unit (ATU) instead of a standard septic tank.
The ground floor construction is cast in place concrete, with two stories of super-insulated frame construction on the finished concrete deck. The home includes an apartment downstairs, and in-home offices for the owners on the master suite third floor.
Build Green NM certified this home as a Gold Level Green Home in 2011; it actually achieved Emerald in 4 out of 6 categories.
