Taos Ski Valley is one of the highest municipalities in the US, with an elevation at the base area of over 9200ft. A mining town in the 1800’s, the present day ski area was founded in 1954. Richard Willson has been involved with the ski valley for over 37 years, since his 1982 Master’s Thesis at the University of New Mexico for a Facilities Master Plan for Taos Ski Valley, Inc.
Since then, as Staff Planner for TSV Inc. for 2 years, project architect with SLNB Architects for 6 years, and principal of Willson + Willson Architects LLC since 1990, he has completed dozens of projects–large and small–including:
